This Privacy Policy explains how Get Good at Badminton ("GGAB", "we", "our", "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our application and services (the "Service"). Please read it carefully. If you do not agree with this policy, do not use the Service.
For privacy questions or to exercise any of your rights, contact us at support@getgoodatbadminton.com.
1. Who We Are
Get Good at Badminton ("GGAB") is a service operated by Shan Enterprises Inc., a corporation incorporated in the Province of Alberta, Canada. References to "we", "our", and "us" in this Privacy Policy refer to Shan Enterprises Inc. We provide a video review, tagging, and analytics platform for badminton players and coaches.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
Information you provide directly:
- Account information: email address, password (stored hashed), and any profile details you choose to add
- Subscription and billing information (processed by Stripe; we do not store full payment card details)
- Match data, rally tracking inputs, shot tracking inputs, annotations, and notes
- Video content that you upload for analysis, including any audio captured in those videos
- Support correspondence
Information collected automatically:
- Usage data (features used, interaction patterns, session timestamps)
- Device and browser information
- Approximate location derived from your IP address (via Google Analytics)
- Server logs, including IP address, for security and debugging
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
- Process your match and video data to generate analytics, tracking results, and insights
- Train, develop, and improve our own machine learning models that power tracking, shot detection, and other analytical features
- Communicate with you about your account, support requests, billing, and product updates
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, abuse, and security incidents
- Comply with legal obligations
4. Human Review of Video Content
You should be aware that human members of our team may view user-uploaded video content. Today, this is limited to the company's two founders, who may view video for the following purposes:
- Reviewing tracking and analytical accuracy
- Debugging and improving features
- Investigating support issues you have reported
- Building, evaluating, and improving our machine learning models
- Investigating suspected violations of our Terms of Service
We do not view video for any purpose other than operating and improving the Service. As we grow, additional employees or contractors may need access to video content for these same purposes. When that happens, every such person will be bound by written confidentiality obligations and, where required, a data processing agreement, and will only access video on a need-to-know basis.
If you have specific concerns about video review or wish to flag content as particularly sensitive, contact us at support@getgoodatbadminton.com.
5. Machine Learning and AI
Use of your data to train our models. We use video and match data uploaded to the Service to train and improve our own machine learning models, including tracking and shot-detection models. Trained models learn general patterns from many users' data and do not store or reproduce individual videos. Once a model has been trained, it retains the patterns it has learned even if you later delete your account or your data; however, we will not use your raw video, identifiable annotations, or personal data in any future training runs after deletion.
Third-party AI processing (Anthropic). Some features rely on Anthropic's API to generate AI-powered insights. When you use these features, relevant data which may include video, video-derived data, or match data is sent to Anthropic for processing. Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, Anthropic does not use customer inputs or outputs to train its models. Anthropic processes the data only to return a response to our request.
Your right to object. If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you have the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests, including training of our models. To object, contact support@getgoodatbadminton.com. We will honor valid objections and stop using your data for training purposes.
6. Legal Bases for Processing (EU/EEA and UK Users)
We process your personal data on the following legal bases under the GDPR and UK GDPR:
- Performance of a contract to provide the Service you signed up for
- Legitimate interests to improve the Service, train and improve our own models, ensure security, prevent abuse, and communicate about the product
- Consent for any processing where we ask for it explicitly
- Legal obligation where required by law
7. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share data only with service providers strictly as necessary to operate the Service, and each is bound by a contract that requires them to protect your data.
